Yesterday, Devin came to my place around noon with recording gear in tow. We have secret plans to release an acoustic EP in the next few months, which I guess aren’t so secret anymore. We decided to work on a cover, Despistado’s “Burning House.” The first hour was spent playing with the tempo and arrangement. Then we took a break to pick up my brother from the mechanic, drop him off and get groceries for an afternoon breakfast. Todd showed up around 2pm and was kind enough to make the breakfast while we recorded the track. A few coffee’s later the guitar track was done and we were on to breakfast. We ate like champions, good work Todd. Vocals, a few takes, a few more coffees. Todd throws down keys. Todd throws down the shaker. Todd throws down tambourine. We all throw down a couple more vocals and call it a day. Once Devin has a mix done we’ll give you a listen.
